How to Shape Your Company Culture

Every company has a certain culture, a style of doing things, and it exists in some form, whether you have consciously worked towards it or not. However, when you consciously shape the culture of your company, you are in control of the way things work. Irrespective of whether you are working out of a serviced office in Hyderabad or a business center in Hyderabad, you would need to know how to shape the culture of your company.

It is wrong to think that working out of a serviced office in Hyderabad or any other metro means there can’t be a cohesive company culture. Whether your office is a conventional one or is located in a business center in Hyderabad, you can shape one.

Communication: One of the biggest ways to shape your company culture is by boosting communication. Your serviced office in Hyderabad can be designed in such a manner that your employees communicate with each other. Good office design and layout boosts communication — the presence of flowing spaces, breakout areas, cafes and lounges boost employee interaction and communication. Good office design offered by a business center in Hyderabad helps employees and bosses offer real-time suggestions and feedback, and that could be an important part of your office culture.

Good work environment: Building a good work environment fosters trust, faith and productivity — all key elements of company culture. Work environment could mean office infrastructure, supplies, decor, good housekeeping and amenities. These effectively shape the culture of your company. If you have excellent WiFi access, receptionist services, conference call services, etc apart from complementary beverages being served, your employees begin to behave and work in a certain manner, which is all about company culture.

Participatory meetings: Meetings are the norm in every company, but how do you ensure your company meeting is done in a unique manner? If you work out of a serviced office in Hyderabad or any other city for instance, you could avail of the meeting rooms provided. Meeting rooms that are well-equipped for AV presentations, conference calling or video calls, etc are ideal. You can use meetings to get to know your team, and ensure that every member participates. You get to choose the layout design of the conference room or meeting room if you work out of a business center in Hyderabad or any Indian metro.

Events, trainings, workshops: You could also make use of the seminar rooms for training and workshops which are offbeat and encourage articulation, bonding and brainstorming. Organising a specific type of event at a specific time is also a great way to boost company culture, for instance, you could have a monthly quiz/music programme, depending on the in-house talent.

The way everyone in your company greets each other, celebrates each other’s success, responds to issues at work, articulates feedback and solves problems all define company culture. Company culture also defines how employees balance home and work, how they manage work hours, options for remote work etc. You should have clarity in what helps your business flourish and lead the way, so the rest follow.

POLL: Does your company have a specific culture or is not defined?

  1. Some great ideas here, thank you so much for sharing! We are just about to enter our 25th year in business, and although we have a great culture in place, it’s something that we continually have to work on as personnel change. One of the biggest things that we do is discuss company culture in the interview and onboarding process, so that new hires are aware of what they are stepping into. This sets the expectation from day 1 and gives you a solid foundation to build on.
